At the start of 2009, MGL launched its New Growth Platforms incubation unit. MGL New Growth Platforms will be MGL’s center for business- and domain-driven innovation and new venture creation.

MGL New Growth Platforms charter:

• To uncover new market opportunities that have the potential for high growth and high return for MGL and to determine where MGL could make the most valuable entree
• Set the stage for the creation of new solution-driven business units within MGl to address new markets. This growth will happen via organic and acquisitive strategies.
• Ensure that new solution businesses develop quickly and completely and are ready for an assertive entrance into the given market

Each MGL New Growth Platform venture will be based on key principles:

• High degrees of innovation, market uniqueness, and potential for return on investment
• Offering customers differentiated solutions to their most complex problems, with special appeal to early movers and those looking to seize early competitive advantage
• Solutions that fit into MGL’s larger services and solutions strategy and our IP-led, domain-centric business model
