MGL Life Sciences
How to reduce the time and effort in getting a drug to the market is a challenge that is being heard in boardrooms and laboratories across the Healthcare and Life Sciences industry. More and more companies are attributing their progression in clinical trials and to product launches to the way they have integrated IT into the drug discovery and clinical trial processes. Enabling tools in the areas of Electronic Medical Record (EMR), Healthcare Information System, Sequence Analysis and Telemedicine have ensured that IT efforts are focused and aligned with business objectives.
From bioinformatics to electronic clinical trials, MGL has been in the forefront of delivering solutions in the Life Sciences arena. Our Life Sciences division was set up in Delhi in 2001 when the notion of doing IT enabled solutions from India was an unexplored territory for drug discovery processes. With a pioneering effort in creating products and services to utmost dedication to quality, MGL has assisted its clients in planning, and implementing the right technology solutions to meet their needs – all the way from discovery to successful market launch MGL Life Sciences team comprises of professionals consisting of functional/domain experts, information technologists, statisticians, mathematicians etc. The team has experience in a wide variety of skill sets and domains ranging from Agriculture to Marine Biotechnology, Genomics to Drug Design and EMR to Telemedicine.
MGL Life Sciences activities can be broadly classified under the following services:
- Product Design and Development: MGL Life Sciences is actively involved in the in-house design and development of analytical tools to be used by Life Sciences and Healthcare practitioners. In Life Sciences, the first step was in the form of EXOME™-an Advanced Sequence Analysis Tool that was built by MGL team. Other tools that followed in line were EXOME-ED™, EXOMEBlast™, EXOME-Horizon™ and ISAP™.
Healthcare products include Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Hospital Information Management System (HIMS) having multiple modules aimed at specific functionality.
- Customized In-Silico Solutions: The capabilities of functional analysis and data mining, by using sophisticated and high-end tools and technologies, are being offered in the areas of gene annotation, genome annotation, docking studies, molecular modeling, combinatorial library design etc. These services could be provided onsite or off shore depending on customer needs and project feasibility.
- Target Discovery Platform: Evolving a platform facilitating the identification of potential drug targets, in a specific disease model (For example, OncoMaster™ for Cancer)
- Corporate Training: Short-term customized corporate training is made available to the professionals in Pharma and Biotech industries in different aspects of Computational Biology and Drug Design.
