K. Chandra, Chairman & CEO
K. Chandra, Chairman & CEO
K. Chandra, became the Non-Executive Chairman of the Company in June 2001 and became Executive Chairman in June 2004. As Chairman, he is credited with several strategic initiatives being undertaken, such as acquisitions and fund raisings. He obtained his B.Tech. in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras in 1973, and an MBA from Rutgers University, US in 1976. He worked for ABB Lummus Crest for 18 years in various capacities eventually heading operations in India. He has been appointed as Executive Chairman & CEO for a period of 5 years with effect from June 30, 2004 with the Central Government's approval.

K.R. Paramesvar
K. R. Paramesvar was one of the Managing Partners of the Company and joined the Board in May 1998. He resigned as Managing Partner before joining the Audit Committee as Chairman in August 2002. He is an Electrical Engineer and has a diverse industrial background spanning over 40 years. He began his career in 1955 with the Planning Commission of the Government of India. He was assigned to the newly formed Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd ("BHEL") and was trained in the USSR and the US in various aspects of industrial management. After his assignment with BHEL, he moved back to the Planning Commission and later headed the Indian Standards Institution (subsequently renamed the Bureau of Indian Standards), which sets product / quality standards and systems for a wide variety of industries.
 

 
R. Gowri Shanker
R. Gowri Shanker
R. Gowri Shanker joined the Board in June 2003. He was appointed as Whole Time Director in July 2003 for a period of 3 years. After completion of his tenure, he continues to be on the board as a Director. He obtained his B.Tech in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Chennai, in 1978, MS in Industrial Engineering from University of Texas in 1980, M.B.A. in Finance from University of Chicago in 1982 and MS in Electronic Commerce from Carnegie Mellon University, in 2002. He brings to the company specialized IT knowledge and wide management experience. He has more than two decades of work experience and has served in Senior Executive positions in various corporations.

Hari Chandra

Hari Chandra is a Vice President in the Corporate and Mergers and Acquisitions Advisory Group of The Blackstone Group and is based in London.

Since joining Blackstone, Mr. Chandra has focused on the energy and natural resources sector. He has been involved in the sale of Aquila, Inc. in a multi-part transaction to Great Plains Energy and Black Hills Corporation; the capital raising effort for Blue Source, LLC; the strategic and financial repositioning of Aquila, Inc. , including Aquila's sale of several gas and power utilities to Integrys Energy Group, Empire District, and Mid-Kansas Electric Co. ; the acquisition of Lafarge North America by Lafarge S. A. ; the sale of British Energy's stake in AmerGen Energy Company LLC to Exelon Corporation and the restructurings of AES Corporation, Allegheny Energy, NRG Energy and Reliant Resources.

Before joining Blackstone in 2004, Mr. Chandra worked in the energy and power private equity effort at Fortress Investment Group and in the banking group at Lazard Frères, where he advised on a number of mergers and acquisitions and restructuring advisory transactions for energy and power companies.
Prior to working in investment banking, Mr. Chandra worked at Constellation Power Source, where he was responsible for origination of structured transactions involving energy and environmental commodities.

Mr. Chandra received a BS in Engineering from the Johns Hopkins University.

 

 
Hendrikus Adrianus Alfonsus
Mr. Alfonsus joined the Board as Additional Director on December 03, 2010. Mr. Alfonsus is a professional consultant, based in New York
City. He is presently involved in business development of exciting products like UltraCloud™, a cloud based parallelization technology that shortens the processing time of large and complex algorithms up to 200 times.

Prior to this, Mr. Alfonsus was Senior Consultant with the Waste and Energy Company of Amsterdam and incharge of sales & marketing in
the US. Harry was President & CEO of the US operations of Deutsche Babcock, based in Tampa Florida, following assignments in the early
90’s as Managing Director of their Indian operations headquartered in Bangalore, India and as Vice President, International Operations,
based in Ratingen, Germany. Activities for ABB in India included projects for a number of customers including LAB in Patalganga, and the Hazira Complex, both for Reliance Industries.

Mr. Alfonsus has spent more than 20 years in senior management positions, associating with varied industries across the globe. Mr. Alfonsus studied chemical engineering at Delft University in The Netherlands and attended NYU’s graduate business school.
